| Rhodesian Ridgeback, owned by Joy Gochman, Doggone Fast |
| What kind of dog should be inducted into the Clyde Moore Hall Of Fame? We believe it should be Beep-Beep, a Rhodesian Ridgeback. Notoriety: She might not have been a flashy fast dog setting records and taking names, but what she did do was play a sport that wasn't popular for her breed...and she played it exceptionally well. Beep-Beep was an ambassador for her breed and was well known in Regions 15 and 9 with her owner, Joy Gochman. Longevity: She raced for 10 years and accumulated "first-to" titles in 10 of 14 regular titles, 8 of 10 multibreed titles, and earned her Iron Dog. Team Value: Beep-Beep was a valuable start dog, well before the no-false-start rule changes. She led her team to the Multibreed Regional Championship in 2008, and a 1st place finish in the CanAm Classic Multibreed Division 1 in 2009. That is an achievement by itself, but add that Beep-Beep is a rare breed in the sport and a large breed, it was a huge feat. |
