Cannon - 2025 Clyde Moore Hall of Fame

Cannon's nomination letter
Australian Cattle Dog, Michelle Largent, Gold Rush
Cannon's flyball career began in March 2012 and concluded in January 2023. Over eleven years, he built a record of speed, consistency, and titles, but what made him unforgettable was his heart. Cannon was every team's dream: the dog who could step into any lineup, run clean, and do it with anyone on the tug. Remarkably steady, he held a reliable 4.0 - 4.2 pace with a personal best of 3.898. His many accomplishments were impressive: Iron Dog, MBGCH, HOBBES, Region 16 MVP in 2020, six MB regional championships, and MB2 and MB3 titles at CanAm. By retirement, he proudly stood as the #2 all-time Australian Cattle Dog in NAFA points. What set Cannon apart was resilience. He battled injuries and even life-threatening leptospirosis, yet always fought back, not just to compete, but to compete with joy. His determined comebacks inspired teammates and proved his unwavering spirit. Beyond wins, Cannon gave confidence to nervous handlers, helped bring along new dogs, and steadied his teammates in tough races. Outside the lanes, he excelled in dock diving, Barnhunt, and disc, but flyball was always his greatest love. To honor his career and the spirit he carried into every single heat, we proudly nominate Cannon for the Clyde Moore Memorial.
